Dear Parents,
Hello, it is me, Toni McSpadden. I bet you have been wondering what is going on at Kearns-St.Ann School with that 7th grade teacher. Well, here I am and hopefully I will be able to answer your general questions.
For a few years my walking ability has been on the declining side. My doctor is Dr. Daiely, a neurosurgeon who specializes in complex spinal neurosurgery. I’ve been working with Dr. Daiely since late Fall last year. I feel very blessed to have Dr. Daiely as my surgeon. He is a very gifted surgeon and anyone that can put up with all my questions (I remind myself of my students when they are asking their questions) is definitely a gift from God. My surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, September 28. I would love your prayers that everything goes well and Dr. Daiely’s hands be guided by God. I should only be in the hospital for a few days if the surgery is successful and then continue my recovery at home. The reason why I haven’t been at school is because my doctor has put me on bed rest because I had many small veins break which caused unbelievable bruising.
My students and I are very fortunate to have Judith Puhr as our substitute. Mrs. Puhr is an outstanding educator who I have the greatest respect for; therefore I have no qualms leaving my students in her very capable and loving hands. Mrs Puhr is a career school teacher. She did teach at Kearns-St. Ann School and also has been a principal at Cosgrif School, which is part of St. Ambrose Parish. Please be supportive with Mrs. Puhr, she is truly a blessing.
After the usual recovery time I will be returning to our school and my angelic 7th grade class. I keep in touch with Mrs. McMahon on a regular basis. Mrs. McMahon relays messages to my class about how I am doing. So, I now know the class is settled and their education is covered and progressing right along. I will continue getting my medical issues under control and get back to school were I belong. PRAY FOR ME!
